Lecar 459 prototype will be finalized in the state of Sao Paulo
After having recently announced the change of its electrical project to the 100% hybrid, Lecar is looking for a new address for its factory that, before, has been it would be installed in Rio Grande do Sul. Demand was given, especially due to floods that impacted the region, which damaged the infrastructure and logistics of moving the car. In parallel to this, the project will be finalized in the state of Sao Paulo.
The redirection to the hybrid model is due to the conclusion of the enormous advantages that these cars provide to society, especially in terms of cost and infrastructure, after a long period of applied tests and analysis of international studies already published.
In this new project, the the idea is to invest in a hybrid ethanol technology with 100% electric motor traction. And for this, it will be necessary to find a new place that provides the necessary conditions for this creation. “Due to floods in RS, we had to evaluate other possibilities in our country to install our factory. We are not discarding the state that welcomed us so well, but we need to be open to new options that allow us to start this new stage”, explains Flavio Figueiredo Assis, founder of Lecar.
Certain projects developed in partnership with companies and institutions of Caxias do Sul will be kept – such as those of FINEP in development of innovation and technology with UCS (University of Caxias do Sul), which are of extreme relevance to the automaker and the city. Also because, in addition to being the location of your tax address, part of the engineering team of the automaker operates remotely from the region.
Now, the time comes to expand the horizons. “We are confident that we will start a new promising journey in the hybrid vehicle market, bringing models adhering to the mobility conditions of Brazilians”, concludes Assis.
